kalau aku ade perasaan rajin yg membuak2, mmg byk dh gamba2 aku dh upload dlm blog. tp aku pun xtau, kenape aku x rajin.
kadang2 aku paksa gak diri aku untuk jadik rajin, tp like ppl said, x baik menipu diri sendiri, so aku pun give up.

Niah National Park

modem kaput. modem price: RM250. gt it replaced. connection: ok.

the pic ere was shot when i attended a forum in miri, sarawak. during the last day of the forum, the org comm. brought us 2 niah national park. beautiful scenery with its history dating bck thousand of yrs ago. went 2 the museum 2 hv a look b4 we started the 3 km walk to the mouth of the Great Cave. overall, it ws truly a wonderful experience 4 me. me planning 4 another visit, maybe wid a smaller pack of photogs (can oso go 2 mulu nat. park, niceee~). i'll upload more pics n stories soon.

got wedding to shoot dis weekend at batu pahat. thank God i managed 2 complete album editing prior to dt. lookin 4ward 4 the assignment.

bali, indonesia part II: Luwak coffee

2nd day in bali, we stopped by at a coffee plantation on our way to kintamani. the wonderful thing is, they served u free coffee ere!

so while enjoying 1 cup after another, (damn gud cuppa), i saw sumthin, err... movin..

cute, aite? (thnx 2 jaja act 4 alerting me on dis. i was so into my coffee so i dun even bother wut were happening around). this cute lil animal is called paradoxurus. sound like a dino aite? hehehe.. locals call em luwak. its a small civit-like animal that loves coffee damn much (yup, welcome to my club, mr luwak). So what is the relation between me, coffee and this cute lil guy (apart from our craving for coffee)? hmmm..

"These little mammals live in the trees and one of their favorite foods is the red, ripe coffee cherry. They eat the cherries, bean and all. While the bean is in the little guy's stomach, it undergoes chemical treatment and fermentations. The bean finishes its journey through the digestive system and exits. The still-intact beans are collected from the forest floor, and are cleaned, then roasted and ground just like any other coffee. The resulting coffee is said to be like no other. It has a rich, heavy flavor with hints of caramel or chocolate. Other terms used to describe it are earthy, must and exotic. The body is almost syrupy ant it's very smooth"

recently, i went to bali, indonesia. spent my 4 days thr, visiting places and meeting wonderful ppl. i'll summarized my jalan2+shopping (not me la shopping, my sis, damn man dis gurl really knw hw 2 shop) ere, sharing pics and stories. enjoy!

Barong Dance in Batubulan, Bali, Indonesia

The first place we went was Batubulan, bout 1 hr driving from our hotel in Kuta beach. We went thr to watch Barong Dance. niceeeee~

the performance started at 0930hrs. Here's a brief description 'bout barong dance:

"Barong is probably the most well known dance. It is also another story telling dance, narrating the fight between good and evil. This dance is the classic example of Balinese way of acting out mythology, resulting in myth and history being blended into one reality.

The story goes that Rangda, the mother of Erlangga, the King of Bali in the tenth century, was condemned by Erlangga's father because she practiced black magic. After she became a widow, she summoned all the evil spirits in the jungle, the leaks and the demons, to come after Erlangga. A fight occurred, but she and her black magic troops were too strong that Erlangga had to ask for the help of Barong. Barong came with Erlangga's soldiers, and fight ensued. Rangda casted a spell that made Erlangga soldiers all wanted to kill themselves, pointing their poisoned keris into their own stomachs and chests. Barong casted a spell that turned their body resistant to the sharp keris. At the end, Barong won, and Rangda ran away." (www.indo.com)

"Somebody can die or get seriously injured in a Barong dance. It is said that if Rangda's spell is too strong, a weak soldier may not be able to resist it, even with the help of Barong. He may end up hurting himself with his own keris." Gempakk siottt! kebal beb...

black & white photography. ilford sure does it right. its been awhile til i finally scanned my film. 2 rolls of bnw films been exposed in abu dhabi/dubai. i lost/misplaced 1 of em, lupa laa whr i put it. daanngg...
dis was my first time travelling w films. i prefer digital, but sumhow i really like the idea of having both. thank God my gf hv a big hand bag so she helped me carried my film slr.hehehe...

air terjun batu tujuh, bentong (part 2)

dulu time kecik2 sure kite senang giler terpengaruh dgn citer2 kt dlm t.v. tgk citer gaban, raser cam nk jadik gaban, if tgk citer kartun kickers, raser cam nk jd player bola. haaa, lepas dh tua bangka, dh ader kejer, dh nk kawen, ruper2nye ade lg segelintir pemuda2 yg still lg senang terpengaruh dgn t.v/ movies. mamat2 kt atas ni baru jer tgk citer flash point (citer lwn2) kt umah derang (aku pun lyn skalik). memandangkan line clear (xde mak bapak, awek, maupun boss kt sungai time nie), masing2 menggunakan opportunity ni utk menjadi hero citer flash point, hajat yg sudah lama terpendam di dlm hati masing2.


b4 start shooting aksi2 stunt movie flash point version bentong, sesi uji bakat dijalankan. memandangkan shooting diadakan di sungai, lebih thrill sekiranya watak seekor buaya turut dimuatkan dlm pics. pic di atas diambil time sesi uji bakat. ben jelas dpt menjiwai watak seekor buaya dgn baik. sambil mengangkat kaki kt blakang (kaki dijadikan sebagai ekor buaya) dan mulut terbuka ganas, ben tampak ganas, tangkas, dan lapar. mayon, keba, silmi, kepen n yon turut menyertai uji bakat watak buaya ini ttp x berjaya. cuba lagi!


sesi org2 jahat membelasah hero. dlm scene ni ben yg sblm ni berjaya memegang watak sebagai seekor buaya turut memegang watak sebagai konco2 geng jahat.

terlanjur aku bercuti kt kl, aku pun join la bebudak ni g mandi manda kt air terjun bt 7, bentong. gerak from kl around 9++ am, sunday. crew2 yg terlibat:-

mandi2 sambil bbq ayam n keli ternak encik silmi. lepas makan, mandi, relax jp, mandi balik, pastu ujan....tp kejap jer ar. pastu aku dh agak boring, aku pun ajak la derang bermain off camera flash, nyum2~


babak bwk dier nyer shoot-thru umbrella. aku bwk aku nyer softbox. flash pun ader 2, 3 bijik. so cukup ar kot. aku ader 1 jer set pt-04, so aku attach 1 receiver kt sb 800 n 1 lg sb 800 pakai su-4 jer. sunlight agak kuat gk time ni, so effect lighting agak kurrengg obvious. hmmmm...


hari pun jd mendung sket, n aku decide nk tukar location. pic above was shot with 2 sb 800's, 1 in softbox n the other with shoot-thru umbrella. softbox was placed in front of palik n shoot-thru umbrella was held (thnx 2 keba) from palik's back side.

it's 0220 hrs. tgh tunggu match liverpool vs chelsea. aku bosan n suddenly teringat aku nyer draft dlm blog still x post lg. ari tu aku jz sempat upload pics jer, pastu mata dh berat giler, sambar bantal n aku tdo. anyway, ni pics time aku g abu dhabi ari tu. location: heritage village, abu dhabi. tempat ni sort of like museum ar, so if u wanna learn 'bout abu dhabi, dis is da place to visit. pic kt atas ni adalah kedai2 kt heritage village ni. dier buat style zaman2 dulu ar. kirenye dulu2 kedai2 kt area ni sumer pattern camni ar.

finally, sesudah sekian lama aku tak meng update blog ni. nk kater bz sgt kejer tak jugak, tp one of the reason y its freakin hard 4 me 2 keep updating my blog is da craziness of my broadband connection right ere in kerteh land. maybe im da only dude ere facing dis prob, i dunno but da connection is most of da time sucks!! anyway, dis are some pics i took coupla months back mase tgh outing dgn rakan2 seperjuangan kt cameron highlands.

ha ni pose baring atas pokok teh. setengah minit selepas gambar ni diambil, encik ben n encik yon di 'sound' oleh tukang kebun aka pak guard dari jauh. ayu sungguh pose ni especially encik ben yg bergaya dgn lense 80-200. tampak gagah dan matang.

aku bukanlah mat bunga tp ader la sket pics bunga yg aku amek kt cameron. jenis bunga? dun ask me, brader...hehehehehe...

ni bapak kpd segala chandelier. besar beb, kalo jatuh atas badan ni confirm arwah arr. kt main praying hall ni ader 3 bijik chandelier ni, kalo x silap ar.

masjid ni x fully siap lg, still ader construction work sket2. kt luar, pokok2 baru nk tanam, escalator nk turun g tmpt wudhuk still x function lg (jauh siot nk g amek wudhuk, punye la besar masjid ni), lantai kt luar x polish lg, etc...

baper puluh ribu org laa yg bley fill in main praying hall ni? utk tujuan keselamatan, masjid ni is equipped with state of the art cctv system. ader pak guard n mak guard luar dalam. more pics to come soon...

Tattoo

Sambil2 shooting 4 assignment last year kt sarawak, aku menyempatkan diri shooting 4 personal collection. This time i was lucky enuf to to be able to shoot traditional tattoos belonging to Kenyah and Kayan's tribe.
Tattoo kt atas ni traditional tattoo 4 Kenyah. Tattoo dier xla se-intricate and detail as tattoo Kayan but cantik. Mengikut citer nenek nie, dier memula tattoo kt tangan jer. Lepas kawen baru dier buat tattoo kt kaki. Tattoo ni amek maser lame nk siap, dier x siap 1 day jer. so, tattoo artist dier buat step by step. ari nie buat sket, pastu selang 3,4 ari sambung balik. continue sampai la siap. nenek ni citer time kener tattoo dier nangis jer coz sakit. so, in order nk memujuk, org2 yg ader kat sekeliling dier time dier kener tattoo tu akan nyanyi kt dier lagu. dier pun demo la kat aku camner sound lagu tu, tp aku xbley la nk demo kt sini, hehehe sebab aku pun dh x baper ingat dh camner bunyi n lyrics dier.

Ni sample tattoo org Kayan. Nampak plain jer kan, tp kalo korang tgk dekat2, tattoo ni actually detail giler babeng. detail sampai nampak cam plain. satu lg maybe tattoo ni pun dh lamer kt kulit nenek ni, so dh kembang sket kot. ntah ar, aku pun xtau, main kasik jer assumption ni. Tattoo nenek Kayan ni plak lg la susah nk buat, lg time consuming, n 4 sure lg la sakit. this is a traditional art, n I was lucky enuf to witness and experience dis with my own eyes.

Sampai kt peha woo tattoo. according to nenek Kenyah ni, lain org lain tattoo dier. for example, nenek ni datang dr keluarga otai tribe ni, lebey kurang cam ruler tribe la. so tattoo dier banyak sket, kalo kire2 ader 5 lines kt kaki. so, ader certain org, ader 3 jer. benda2 ni melambangkan status of the family la kot. nenek ni pun citer lg, nowadays, bebudak muda tribe Kenyah ni dh x buat dh tattoo traditional ni. if ader pun sket sgt orgnyer. x mustahil la 1 day, traditional tattoo ni akan pupus. aku mmg kagum giler time tgk tattoo2 traditional ni beb. n aku plan, if ader masa lg aku nk g lg ke sarawak, this time around aku nk shoot tribal tattoo from other tribes plak. :) cheerrsss!
